Hold your phone up to one of my portraits and it might start talking.

Technology can do plenty of clever things. I’m mostly interested in what it can help us feel.

I work by one rule: story first, shutter after. Before I lift the camera, we talk. I want to know who you are, what you’re carrying and how you’d like to be seen. The person behind the camera is always making choices, but I’d rather make them with you than about you. So, you help shape the portrait instead of becoming somebody else’s interpretation of it.

Then we make the portrait. Sometimes that’s where the work ends. Sometimes there’s more to say, and a phone held over the portrait reveals a voice, a memory, a piece of music or a short film. The photograph becomes a doorway.

i’d rather make them with you than about you

Yours to keep.

  • A musician might want the whole world to see their story, while a mum might want to share hers only with family. Both are welcome. I share the work I create through my portfolio, exhibitions and promotional materials, but if you’d prefer your portrait to remain private, just let me know. Your wishes will always be respected.
  • Everyone taking part gets plain-language permissions, clear boundaries and a look at their story before the public sees it. Every portrait has words beside it for anyone who’d rather read than scan.
  • The platform used to deliver your AR artwork may change. Where a change affects access, updated instructions will be provided within the agreed support arrangements. Your commission will specify the included hosting and support period, device requirements and any ongoing charges before you book.
