ABOUT THE ART

The Post-Pandemic Exhibition (PPE) is a groundbreaking celebration of resilience, recovery, and creativity, honouring Hull’s dreamers and doers: the independent entrepreneurs and community leaders who dared to thrive despite adversity. This immersive experience blends traditional portraiture, storytelling, and Augmented Reality (AR) to breathe life into personal journeys of perseverance.

At the heart of the exhibition are the stories of Nick, Jo, Stella, Vikki, Sally, and others— entrepreneurs and community leaders who embody courage and innovation. Yet, PPE is about more than individual narratives; it is a tribute to all of us. It honours those who dream, build, and create.

Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in art, sound, and connection, reflecting on our shared strength and the beauty of possibility.

“This project is about resilience, a trait we’d rather not have to use, but one we must learn to build. Dedicated to Alhaji Yusuf Mohammed, my late father, whose poems painted endless possibilities for me—who encouraged me to dream, to thrive, to stumble, and, above all, to keep on creating and Hajiya Aishetu Mohammed who made every wall in our home a gallery.”
